Vehicles must meet the state government’s requirements and must be in great condition, free of any damage and decals. The vehicle must:
be no more than 15 years
have a minimum of 4 doors
seat a minimum of 4 passengers
seat a maximum of 6 passengers
not be an ex-taxi
pass a pink slip vehicle inspection in the last 12 months. *Exempt for new vehicle registered in 12 months
be registered in NSW and covered by the NSW CTP insurance
be covered under a current third-party or comprehensive insurance
Profile Picture
You will need to submit a clear photo of yourself (in JPG, JPEG, PNG format, at least 200 x 200 pixels). The photo you submit will be displayed as your profile picture for riders to verify you.
National Police Check
You will need to submit a National Police Check issued by an ACIC accredited provider that is dated/issued no more than three (3) months prior to the submission date. Dated within the previous three (3) months
Have not had any serious criminal disqualifying offences
Vehicle registration
You will need to submit your vehicle registration certificate. Your vehicle must be registered in NSW and be registered at all times. If you have a brand-new vehicle or if you are transferring your vehicle from interstate to NSW, you can register your vehicle at any NSW Service Centre. Find out the closest Service Centre at https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/service-centre.
NSW Driver’s Licence
You will need to submit a copy of your current Driver Licence. You must have held an Unrestricted Australian or NSW Driver Licence for a period of greater than 12 months in the previous 4 years. The temporary change (conditional exemption) to Driver Licence Tenure requirements under the Point to Point Regulation will be in place until 12 April 2024. You will need to have a T condition on your licence as well. This is also known as a Passenger Transport Licence Condition (PTLC). If you do not have this at the moment, you can apply for it here:
Proof of ID
You will need to provide an alternative ID (other than your driver licence), such as a valid passport, Immi card, Australian or NZ birth certificate or citizenship certificate.
Vehicle Insurance You will need to submit your vehicle insurance documents. Your vehicle must have a current third-party damage or comprehensive insurance cover, on which you should be listed as an insured driver. Please note that this is an extra insurance cover on top of the CTP Insurance (green slip).
Vehicle Inspection Your vehicle must have passed a vehicle inspection within 12 months prior to your application. You will need to submit proof of the inspection result, which can be an e-Safety (pink slip) inspection report issued by an Authorised Inspection Station or Redbook Inspection Report for ridesharing purposes. You may find an approved inspection station at https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=esafetycheck.form.
If your vehicle is a brand-new vehicle registered within 12 months, you do not need to submit an inspection report for the first year of your vehicle’s registration.
Driving History
You will need to provide an online driving history record issued by Service NSW for the past 6 months. Please note that you need to provide the full report with a detailed description of the offences and the dates. You can apply for an online driving record from Service NSW here:

New South Wales The stickers must be placed on or near the rear window of the vehicle on the driver’s side and must be clearly visible from the outside. More information can be found here https://www.pointtopoint.nsw.gov.au/safety-standards-vehicles-providing-booked-services#signs.
Australian Capital Territory The stickers must be placed on the passenger’s side of the vehicle, either on or near the lower windscreen or on a fixed window.
After your registration is approved, you will receive 2 x self-adhesive DiDi Stickers by post. Most states and territories’ regulations require that you display signs indicating that the vehicle is being used to provide passenger services.
