QLD Document Requirements

Drivers Licence

You need to have a full current Drivers Licence in QLD to provide rideshare services. 

You must have held an open, full Drivers Licence for a period of 12 months (Australian or overseas).

Portrait

A clear photo of yourself (in JPG, JPEG, PNG format, at least 200 x 200 pixels) is needed to help riders to find you.

Your photo must:

  • Match photos on your drivers licence and passport and; 

  • No hats or glasses (regular glasses and religious garments are accepted)

  • Full face and top of shoulders

  • Good lighting and not blurry

  • Only one person in the picture

  • Clear, unobstructed background 

  • Should be a coloured photo

Evidence of Identification

You will need to provide a primary form of ID (other than your drivers licence), such as a valid passport, travel document, Immi card, Australian or New Zealand birth certificate or citizenship certificate.

Proof of ID must meet the following requirements:

  • Show the holder is over 20 years of age 

  • Show all four corners of the document and the document is not cut off

  • Have the appropriate working rights 

Driver Authorisation (DA)

All Driver Partners in QLD must hold a valid and current Booked Hire / Taxi (BHTX) drivers Authorisation (DA). 

You may apply for one here by clicking the button below. You must complete a medical assessment before submitting the application in-person at a Department of Transport Main Roads (TMR) branch. 

If you are completing the DA form for the first time, select “Driver Authorisation New Application (form F2978). You must take the DA Application form with you while going for a medical assessment. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for Driver Authorisation to get approved.

Certificate of Inspection (COI)

Your vehicle must be inspected every 12 months and obtain a Certificate of Inspection to confirm that your vehicle is roadworthy. You will need to submit a current Certificate of Inspection issued by an Approved Inspection Station (AIS) or a TMR Inspection Site.

Your vehicle is exempt from having the Certificate of Inspection if it was manufactured within the last 12 months. You can upload your vehicle registration document in the app if your vehicle was manufactured within 12 months.

If you are not sure whether you have a Certificate of Inspection or not, you can email DTMR at BKHRinspection@tmr.qld.gov.au to have them check for you.

CTP (Compulsory Third Party) Insurance

All the vehicles must have the relevant class of CTP

  • For Private Owned Held Vehicle - Class 26 CTP is required.

  • For Rental of Leased Vehicles - Class 4 CTP is required. You may talk to your provider to confirm if they include the Booked Hire Service Licence for the vehicle that you have hired.

Booked Hire Service Licence (BHSL)

You must hold a current Booked Hire Service Licence. A BHSL is a licence for a vehicle that ensures it is suitable and safe to provide booked hire services to customers. 

Please note that to apply for a BHSL, your vehicle must:

  • Your vehicle must be registered for Correct Purpose of Use

  • have a current certificate of inspection (COI), unless exempt

  • Have the relevant class of Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP) for the vehicle

QLD Compliance Mandatory Driver Training

All Personalised Transport Drivers must complete the Compliance Mandatory Driver Training that includes Anti-discrimination Awareness, Sexual Harassment, Disability Awareness, Vehicle Maintanence.

Please click here to complete your Mandatory Driver Training. Once you have completed the training, please take a screenshot of the result page and upload it in the Driver app. You must obtain at least 15 points or above to pass the Mandatory Driver Training.

E-Tag

To be able to pick up riders from Brisbane Airport, you must hold an E-Tag. We accept E-Tags provided by the following companies: Linkt, RTA, RMS and Eway Interlink. If you have an E-Tag, please upload an image clearly showing the tag number on the side of the device. 

If you do not wish to conduct Brisbane Airport trips, you may upload a note stating “I do not have an E-Tag and acknowledge that without one I cannot pick up riders at Brisbane Airport". The note must include a date and your signature.
